Back when that was still possible.] I'm not asking you to do an errand. We're stuck out on some uncivilized island in the middle of nowhere and I am, to my knowledge, the one and only medical professional here.

Now, sooner or later someone IS going to get hurt. There are who knows what kind of animals and diseases and other hazards to worry about. The second I find out about an injury I will do my best to treat it, but having the right tools might mean someone gets to keep an arm when they otherwise wouldn't.

Or their life. Better tools mean a better survival rate. Something which I'd like to hope we're all aiming for.

He'd like a state of the art scanner and a mobile operating theater, but...] The basics would be something to cut with, something to use to sew people back up, some painkillers and something to sterilize my tools.

If it has to, alcohol will work for the last two of those.
