[Everyone will wake up suddenly, as if having drifted off -- while sitting upright in an uncomfortable office chair. In one hand they're holding the communicator, and in their lap is propped a clipboard with a job application (standard, looking something like this; it requests up to ten years of job history, ) and a pen. The waiting room is also fairly standard, except for being empty.]

[The communicator's lock screen reads, Complete the job application. Time limit, twenty-four hours.]

[There are magazines, fake plants, and computers. There's a staff lounge with food -- tupperware that might have belonged to some of these nonexistent workers, popcorn and cocoa packets, vending machines -- and restrooms. There are exits, but characters will be unable to use them... or make their own, or escape in any way.]

[So the characters are stuck here, until tomorrow morning. Set up a comment telling everyone what your character is doing, and thinking, whether they're obeying the task or not, at any time during the day. Then tag other people! Be sure to check back later in the week, when people are encouraged make threads for the evening as well as the day! Characters that have been claimed are also welcome at this point to join the community, and will be able to make their own posts, which can be tagged by anyone taking part in the event.]

See? [Didn't think he'd know but that tone does set her more at ease, and when he sits too. And okay, this is totally weird but also kind of cool. Just chatting up Scott Summers, no big deal you were only just leading the X-men again the Avengers... Maybe she'll be leaving that part out for now, though.]

I-- Yeah, something like that. We were right in the middle of those really complicated messes with too many people involved.

I have no idea what happened, though. [And you can tell that frustrates her a lot.]

I don't think any of us do. [glances around at all the other people stuck in the building] They--I don't know who they are, but. They can't just leave us in here. They'll come back and we'll get out and go back to what we were doing.

You're right. [He has to be, doesn't he?] I can't believe everyone could just be stuck in a place like this, it seems too weird.

[Sigh.] Hoping something happens sooner rather than later, either way.

[slim]

Yeah. [ducks his head and stares down at where he has his hands folded.]

[he's not that great at making idle conversation. but he'll try!!] So... who's part of the Young Avengers?

[sizing]

[Gives a small smile again.]

We have Patriot, Hawkeye, Vision, Hulkling, Wiccan, and Speed. I go by Stature.

Not always exactly Avengers-sanctioned, but we make it work somehow.

[slim]

[not avengers-sanctioned?? you kids are running amok eh]

There's no adults? [what a strange and foreign concept!] How are you trained?

[sizing]

[Just a little bit sometimes okay...]

Nope, none. You could say it was a lot of on the job experience, I guess. Especially at first.

[slim]

That sounds dangerous.

[but he is obviously awed]

[sizing]

It is. [But when is superheroing not dangerous? She breathes out a little, shrugging.]

We've come close to disbanding for good, to giving it up for different reasons. But the fact is that we're a team. You know?

[slim]

[when you're from the silver age :'( ]

[and oh no team talks. his own team's practically on the edge of disbanding what with warren splitting off to join the future scott summers in mutant revolution and jean being scary with her new powers.]

[still. he's happy to hear that some things turn out okay.] I do know. And I'm glad for it. The world needs people like you and your team.
