[Everyone will wake up suddenly, as if having drifted off -- while sitting upright in an uncomfortable office chair. In one hand they're holding the communicator, and in their lap is propped a clipboard with a job application (standard, looking something like this; it requests up to ten years of job history, ) and a pen. The waiting room is also fairly standard, except for being empty.]

[The communicator's lock screen reads, Complete the job application. Time limit, twenty-four hours.]

[There are magazines, fake plants, and computers. There's a staff lounge with food -- tupperware that might have belonged to some of these nonexistent workers, popcorn and cocoa packets, vending machines -- and restrooms. There are exits, but characters will be unable to use them... or make their own, or escape in any way.]

[So the characters are stuck here, until tomorrow morning. Set up a comment telling everyone what your character is doing, and thinking, whether they're obeying the task or not, at any time during the day. Then tag other people! Be sure to check back later in the week, when people are encouraged make threads for the evening as well as the day! Characters that have been claimed are also welcome at this point to join the community, and will be able to make their own posts, which can be tagged by anyone taking part in the event.]

[she spares a glance for the other woman, looking her over briefly. you actually look like you might know what you're doing. which is both promising and suspicious] [she kicks the door once more for good measure, the kind of kick that would knock over a truck, but aside from a thunderously loud noise, the door appears completely unfazed]

Think someone will have heard that? [huffing out a breath, annoyed]

[ Yeah, she's impressed. ]

Maker, I would hope so. Though whether or not they can hear now is up for debate.

Are you as good with that sword as you look?

Better. [with confidence, although she turns, arms folding over her chest, considering Hawke again] Though perhaps you might have different standards than those I am familiar with.

Maybe we should see, someday. [ Grins. She can old her own against Aveline and Fenris -- could against Carter and others in her old unit. She can probably manage long enough to get a measure of the woman's skill. ]

One of my closest friends is as good as any Chevalier, Serah. And she's better looking, too.

[ Offers her hand. ] Hawke.

Sif. [she pauses for a beat, but she reaches out to shake Hawke's hand, offering her a tiny hint of a smile] It is truly a pleasure to meet another woman who knows what she's doing with a blade.

Just not under these circumstances.

In one light, it isn't so bad. There could be wyverns or giant spiders. [ Look at her, Sunny Optimist. ]

I would almost prefer the beasts. Beasts I can well handle. And there would be some satisfaction in defeating them.

Mysterious, empty rooms that cannot be entered or left... [huffs]

[ Now Hawke can't help but laugh. ]

Maker's Breath, you're my sort of person. [ Settles her hands on her hips and looks around the room. ]

Captivity isn't my cup of ale, either. But perhaps we won't have to endure it long? Did you get one of these? [ Pulls the lyrium device out of her pocket. ]

Oh-- I did wake with one of those, I think. [she had it in her hand. it promptly ended up on the floor and she hasn't paid it any attention]

[ She pushes off the wall and approaches, close enough for Sif to read the directions. ]

I'd guess something's going to happen in a bit less than a day.

[huh. she didn't realize... she looks up again] In that case, we should be sure to give our captors a welcome when they come to visit us. [grimly. she'll show them it was a mistake to leave them their weapons]
